of Lindale, TX
August 16, 1947 - December 27, 2013
With the clack of a keyboard and clicks of a mouse late at night, loving grandmother Barbara Sprick shops for her beloved grandson Eli's Christmas gifts. With sheer excitement and a gleam in her eyes, she could not wait to see the look on his face on Christmas morning. Barbara received the greatest gift she and her family could ask for, one final joyful Christmas together before returning home to the Lord.
At age 66, the loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away in her home in Lindale, Texas on Friday, December 27. Her husband Ron Sprick, son Jeff, his wife Ruth, and grandson Eli were the center of her life. Her gentle, caring nature and friendly smile brought her countless friends who have loved her and blessed her life in countless ways. She gave joy to others with her kindness and goodwill. Those she left behind will miss her deeply, but will now be looking down on all her family and friends from above.
Services for Barbara are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 31 at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Subiaco, Arkansas. Interment will follow afterwards at the St. Benedict Cemetery under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris, Arkansas.
Barbara was born August 16, 1947 in Paris, Arkansas to the late Eddie Ray and Ima Sue Gattis Phillips. She met the love of her life and soul-mate Ronald Abe Sprick after graduating from Paris High School. Together they lived in several locations in Arkansas while Ron enlisted in the Army Reserve. After finishing, they adopted their child Jeffrey Alan Sprick in 1978. Together they lived in many different cities throughout Arkansas and Texas before moving to Lindale 20 years ago. Barbara was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Lindale Texas. Throughout her career, she worked as a real estate administrative assistant.
Barbara is also survived by brothers Eddie R. Phillips Jr. and Gary Phillips, both of Paris, Arkansas; sisters Jo Schriver of Scranton, Arkansas and Charlotte Grimes of Paris, Arkansas.
Rosary and visitation are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Monday, December 30 at the Roller Funeral Home in Paris, Arkansas.
Barbara was a wonderful person and great sister-in-law. I know that she and Ron had a good, loving marriage. She was so proud of Jeff and Ruth. Eli was the sparkle in her eye. It was fun to listen to her talk about him. She wanted me to make a quilt for him but we had not been able to get together to discuss the color and design. We thought we would have plenty of time once she and Ron moved back to Arkansas. I will still make the quilt for Eli. It will be in her memory. Ron can tell me what Barbara would have liked.

I didn't know Barbara had passed away. I am so sorry. She and I used to run around when we were teenagers. Used to burn up the road. She was a sweet, kind person. Haven't seen her in many years. She will be missed greatly by family and friends. Love you Barbara.
I am very saddened by the death of Barbara Sue. Been a friend since childhood. I've been reminiscing about all the fun and laughs we shared when we were "crazy" teenagers......lots of good memories.
Peace be with you in the days ahead.

Barbara Sue was a neighbor, and a great one she was. She loved her husband Ron with all of her heart, and her son Jeff and daughter in law Ruth. Then almost 3 years ago her face lit up as she told me about Eli,her grandson that she was so proud of ! Barbara Sue will be missed here in our small neighborhood...
