Christine Leggitt

of Conway, AR

December 27, 1934 - December 17, 2013

Christine Roberts Leggitt of Conway won her battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) Tuesday morning December 17th, 2013.
The family cherishes the fact that her husband, Monty was waiting for her at the Pearly Gates, along with her beloved son, Randy and her sweet Mama and Daddy; Charlie and Agnes Roberts.
She attended Greenbrier High School and graduated in 1952. After graduation she moved to Little Rock where she began her big city life. Her little sister, Sandra bragged to all her friends because her big sis was a real life long distance operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. In fact, her whole family was extremely proud. Christine was happy to share her good fortune with her beloved family on Soda Valley Road where she grew up.
She met her one true love, Monty and after a quick courtship they eloped to Greenville, MS on January 31, 1955. In the next several years they were blessed with three children; Deborah, Randy, and Karen. Christine was a wonderful Mother devoted to raising her children of whom she was very proud. In 1983 she began a thirteen year career as postmistress for Hendrix College. She retired in 1996. Christine was an active member of Greenbrier Church of the Nazarene of which her grandfather helped found.
She is survived by her two daughters; Deborah Allen (Jim), Karen Sexton (Chip), one sister; Sandra Mann, four grandchildren; Anne-Claire Allen, Gracie Allen, Emma Allen, Andie Sexton, and one soon to be great-granddaughter; Aubrey Christine.
She was a beautiful person both inside and out and she will be greatly missed.
Her family would like to thank the selfless caregivers who devoted their time and love to providing 24 hr. care to ''Mrs. Christine''; Nancy Wahpecome, Tammy Cooke, Vickie Frazier, Cora England, Tamara Gentry, Regina Martin, and her beloved sister, Sandra Mann. Big hugs and Kisses to her gentle giant and forever friend Randy Wilborn.
A Funeral Service will be held at Greenbrier Church of the Nazarene on Friday at 2pm, December 20, 2013 with burial to follow at Thorn Cemetery in Greenbrier. Visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Thursday evening at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway.

On the few times that I met Mrs. Leggitt I thought she was very sweet and could see why My sister Teressa loved her so much. Teressa was wanting to come there but time was not on our side to be able to visit with her one last time.
