Glen Franklin Dixon, age 88, of Bergman, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2013, in Harrison. He was born January 31, 1925, at Yardelle, Arkansas, the son of Clarence and Ina (Steele) Dixon. Along with his parents, Glen was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lou (Barber) Dixon; a grandson, Michael Irwin; a great-granddaughter, Ariel Hodges; and his three sisters.

Glen was a member of Highland Wesleyan Church and was active in the U. S. Navy having served during World War II. After returning home, Glen worked construction and started Dixon Construction Company, building several homes in the Harrison area. He then started raising cattle which became his full time career. He was a member of the Cattleman's Association. In his free time, Glen enjoyed fishing, hunting, and tending his cattle. He was a quiet man who was always watching and listening to everything around him.

Glen is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Dena Dixon, of Bergman; his daughter and son-in-law, Barbara A. and Bill Terry, of Bergman; six grandchildren, Tony, Robby, Kirk, Melissa, Stacey and Eric; twelve great-grandchildren, Ashley, Tommy, Christopher, Drew, Sarah, Jared, Megan, Dustin, Lindsey, Tyler, Heighla and Michael; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and many dear friends.



Visitation was Sunday, November 17, 2013, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.

Funeral service was Monday, November 18, 2013, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home, with Bro. Dale Menefee officiating.

Pallbearers were Kirk Dixon, Dustin Matthews, Tommy Harp, Drew Matthews, Lindsey Harp and Christopher Casey.

Honorary pallbearers were Stacey and Jon Jenkins, Robby and Rhonda Matthews, Tony and Kristen Matthews, Melissa and Paul Harp, Bill Terry, Glen's grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren and the Cattleman's Association members.

Interment was in Gaither Cemetery.

TO THE FAMILY OF GLEN DIXON, I WAS IN THE ICU AND TOOK CARE OF MR. DIXON ONE NIGHT. I REMEMBER TALKING TO THE DAUGHTER WHO SAID HIS WIFE PASSED AWAY SUDDENLY IN JANUARY. I AM SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS, LOSING YOUR MOM IN JANUARY AND THE YOUR DAD IN THE SAME YEAR. YOU ARE ALL IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS. HE IS WITH HIS WIFE IN HEAVEN NOW, AND WE WILL SEE HIM AGAIN SOMEDAY SOON. MAY GOD COMFORT YOU ALL IN YOUR LOSS.
