Wilma Jean Roomsburg, age 83, of Harrison, departed this world Monday, October 21, 2013, in Harrison. She was born April 4, 1930, in Cape Fair, Missouri, the daughter of Frank and Blanche (Cross) Henson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Phyllis Miller; and her brother, Oval Henson.
Wilma was a graduate of Pryor High School in Pryor, Oklahoma and attended college at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M. She met the love of her life, Eli Roomsburg, while attending college and they married in Miami, Oklahoma on October 9, 1948. They moved to Harrison in 1952. Wilma worked many years for the Welfare Office and retired in 1987 from the Employment Security Division after a long career as a state employee. She enjoyed reading, attending shows in Branson, and church activities.
Wilma was an active member of the Friendship Sunday School Class at First United Methodist Church, the Wesleyan Circle, and United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, a former member of the Garden Club, and the Business and Professional Women's Club.
Wilma is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Eli Roomsburg, of the home; her son and daughter-in-law, James ''Jim'' L. and Annette Roomsburg, of El Dorado; two grandchildren, Matthew Roomsburg of El Dorado and Holly Roomsburg of Magnolia; several cousins; and many dear friends.
Visitation was Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.
Funeral service was Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at First United Methodist Church, with Rev. David Williams officiating.
Interment was in Maplewood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were David McCaleb, H. D. McCaleb, Dean Melton, Joel Brown, Jerry Pinson, Carl Bushfield and James Harness.
Honorary pallbearers were First United Methodist Church's Friendship Sunday School Class members, Daughters of the American Revolution members, Galena McCaleb, Patsy Brown, Barbara Nixon, Joy Cooper and Georgia Lea Melton.
