Rev. Cecil McCutcheonI am a Veteran.

of Tioga, LA

September 23, 1920 - February 25, 2013

Reverend Cecil McCutcheon, age 92, a resident of Tioga, Louisiana, departed from this life to his eternal life in Jesus on Monday, February 25, 2013, following a brief illness. Cecil was born to the marriage of Eli Lunsford and Cleora Ruff McCutcheon on September 23, 1920, in Eula, Arkansas. He was drafted to serve in the Air Force in World War II and served in the Pacific Theatre. Following his honorable discharge from the Air Force, he came back to Arkansas and on June 11, 1945, he married his lifelong love, Nadine McElroy McCutcheon, in Searcy County.

Cecil McCutcheon was an ordained minister of the United Pentecostal Church International, being licensed with such organization beginning July 31, 1957. He and his faithful wife founded the United Pentecostal Church of Waynesville, Missouri in 1961, and continued to pastor that congregation for thirty-three years until 1994, when they retired from active ministry. Because Waynesville is near the Army base in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, they met many people from across the USA who they saw converted under their ministry. As a result, their ministry reached around the world.

Reverend McCutcheon is survived by his wife, Nadine McElroy McCutcheon, of Tioga, Louisiana; four nieces, Elcie L. Clark (husband Darwin), Darlene Phillips, Deborah Curtis Barnhill (husband Roy), and Kathy Curtis Brown (husband David); two nephews, Jimmy Phillips (wife Karen) and Rev. Mike Phillips (wife Angela). In addition, he is survived by three brothers-in-law, Delmar (Shorty) Martin, Rev. Hubert Phillips and wife Shirley, and Rev. Donald Curtis and wife Laveda.

He was preceded in death by two nieces, Esta Lee McEntire and Delisa Curtis Cox; a sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Pat McEntire; and a sister-in-law, Norma Martin.

Funeral service was Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home, with Roy Barnhill, Ledon Barnhill, Andrew Cox, Kevin Cox, Bruce Maxwell, Robbie Sapp, and Stephen Willeford officiating. Visitation was open Saturday prior to the service.

Interment was in Maplewood Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Donald Curtis, Andrew Cox, Stephen Cox, Caleb Phillips, James Phillips, and Jimmy Phillips.

Honorary pallbearers were Darwin Clark, Delmar (Shorty) Martin, Norman McElroy, Deonne Sherrill, and Harold Sherrill.
