Neville Imogene Methvin

of Harrison, AR

March 23, 1925 - February 26, 2013

Neville Imogene Methvin, 87, of Harrison, Arkansas, went to be with her Lord Tuesday, February 26, 2013. She was born to Andrew Jackson and Bertha Ann (Faulkenberry) Davis March 23, 1925, in Marion County, Arkansas. Neville was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willie ''Jim'' Leon Methvin; her daughters, Jimmy Ruth Methvin, Betty Elaine Methvin, and Beverly Ann Methvin; two brothers, Odell Davis and Ewell Davis; and a sister, Leona Smeltzer.

Neville and her husband Jim, along with their daughter Beverly, moved to Pasadena, Texas in the 1950's. She was always a person of strong faith. While she lived in Pasadena she became a member of the First Christian Church, and a member of Faith Assembly of God Church in Harrison. She and her husband spent many years enjoying their getaway cabin near Livingston, Texas. They competed for the distinction of getting the biggest buck. Neville's strength in times of adversity had been an inspiration to many friends and relatives. She was caring, loyal and devoted to family and friends. She would demonstrate this by cooking big meals for special holidays. She especially loved gardening, cooking and canning.

She is survived by her niece, Charlotte Ashley and her family, of Little Rock, Arkansas; and her cousin, Rosanell Beach, of Bruno, Arkansas. She is also survived by her loving families, the Bogles, the Milligans, the Methvins, the Faulkenberrys, the Shipmans and the Davises; along with a host of other family and friends.

Memorial service was Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Broadway Church of Christ in Yellville, Arkansas, with Bro. Arlis Thrasher officiating. Interment was at later date in Nanney Cemetery.

Her example of strength and courage in the face of tragedy and loss was an encouragement to so many. Her wit and sense of humor were such a blessing. I'll always remember that wonderful giggle and laugh. You've finally joined those sweet little girls. We rejoice with you in that reunion with so many loved ones.

I am very sorry to hear of your loss. Precious memories will bring smiles to your hearts in the days ahead and help ease your sorrow. "I have hope toward God, which hope these men themselves also entertain, that there is going to be a resurrection..." (Acts 24:15) My prayers are with you that the resurrection hope will also comfort you during this time.
