My sincere condolences to Richard and Family. I had great respect for Miss Polly. She was always supported of what we undertook to accomplish at school and was available to chaperone or do anything asked of her in support of our schools.

She had a smile that lit up the world. She will be missed.

52 years of knowing Polly and being her daughter-in-law for almost 23 of those years, I have so many treasured memories - they'd fill a book.

She blessed my life, and all of those who knew her, and will forever be in my heart.

Dear John,
Steve has shared his thoughts and memories of Polly, and I want to add mine to his. The first time I met Polly was at our wedding 39 years ago, and I loved her the minute I met her, and have loved her since! Every time we visited, the visit was not complete unless we ate some brownies and ice cream! I will miss her, but consider myself so blessed.to have known her. We love you. Steve and Betsy

John, Richard & Alison,
I was so sorry to read of Polly's passing and I am so sorry to inform you that I will be unable to attend but wanted to let you know you all will be in my thoughts and prayers. I have loved Polly for over 27 years when we started bowling together. She was such a sweet and beautiful woman. She always remembered me every time I ran into her and we always gave each other the biggest hugs! She will truly be missed. God has brought an angel home : )

Dear John, Richard, Jerry & Family,

At first I struggled with what to write about Polly Hester. And then, just glancing at her recent photograph and beautiful face brought back many good memories. Upon retirement John and Polly didn't become couch potatoes; they fished, they gardened, they took frequent trips to places all over North America....they were always in motion. And Polly still bowled regularly even when the ball became almost as heavy as she!

During the sixties when Richard and I became good friends, I was a constant visitor and lunch/dinner guest. Those were the garden years – plantings that filled the kitchen from the green thumbs and hard work of John and Polyester (that's what we used to affectionately call her). If you were fortunate enough to have seen their garden, then you would know where the phrase “master gardener” probably comes from! The Hester household fed me and others well and without question or restraint during those teenage years. At a recent visit she still had something tasty to offer...almost 40 years of behaving like she was my Mom!

Polly Hester was truly a great Mom, Grandmother, wife, cook, gardener, and friend to all. What a wonderful life she nourished and enjoyed with everyone around her! I will miss her very much. Of course you know my thoughts and prayers are with you this week.

Steve
