Euell Grant Ramsey, 97 of Big Flat went to be with the Lord Wednesday, February 29, 2012. He was born November 2, 1914 in Stone County to the late Columbus Lafayette Ramsey and Mary Ellen Lawrence Ramsey.
He was a licensed minister with the Assembly of God for several years, an Army Veteran of WWII, a retired Timber worker and he attended the Round Mountain Community Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Kathy Downs and husband Charles of Gassville, three sons, Cleophas Ramsey and wife Nona of Onia, T. G. Ramsey and wife Wanda of Corinth, Mississippi, J. L. Ramsey and wife Judy of Big Flat, ten grandchildren, Darlene Garmen of Fifty Six, Earlene Calvender and Gleda Prince both of Mountain View, Janelle Wallace of Onia, Ronda Mize of Greenbrier, Greg Downs of Fayetteville, Debbie Watts of Marshall, Brenda Jones of Big Flat, Gwen Anderson of Newnata and Shane Ramsey of Chester, Virginia, twenty-two great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Savannah, daughter Eudene Lawrence, four grandsons, one great great grandson, two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services are 2 pm, Saturday, March 3, 2012 at the Round Mountain Church with Bro. Gary Anderson and Bro. Charles Downs officiating.
Visitation are 6 to 8 pm, Friday, March 2, 2012 at Roller-Coffman Chapel Funeral Home, Mountain View.
Pallbearers are Greg Downs, Paul Mize, Shane Ramsey, Roy Jones, Lance Anderson, Benny Watts, Ronnie Garmen, J. C. Prince, Clyde Calvander, Jeff Wallace and Bradley Lawrence.

Another soldier's coming home!
Many memories flood our mind. All of our family had been sick. Uncle Euell lending dad his car to carry Regenia to the doctor where she died with fever as high as 108. Because of ice on the roads the funeral
was held at the Ramsey's home..Watching my mother endure comitting a 17 month old baby to snow and icey ground is beyond human understanding..

JL, Cleophas and all the family,
I am so sorry to hear of Euell's passing. He was such a sweet man. We hate to let them go, but we rejoice in knowing that they are at peace with Jesus when they are children of God like Euell and my Dad and Mom were.
