Thomas 'Red' Hunziker, 63, of Mountain View, Arkansas entered into rest on February 13, 2012 at home, peacefully in his sleep after a long battle with COPD.
He was born on January 27, 1949 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Paul and Marie Hunziker. He was the fifth son born of seven sons. He married the late Lucy Jarrell Hunziker on October 6, 1978. He had two sons and a step-daughter.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1968-1970 during the Vietnam war and was stationed in Korea.
He traveled with the Carnival for many years. He, his wife and family, moved to Mountain View in the summer of 1989. He worked for the City of Mountain View as a Sanitation Engineer from 1991-2001. He was a past Post Commander and lifetime member of AmVets Post 7 and a member of the VFW.
He is survived by his daughter, Lycrecia 'Chrissy' Long of Mountain View, his son Randy Hunziker of Mountain View, three grandchildren, William Getz of Columbus, IN, Jesse Marshall of Mountain View and Jaimee Long of Mountain View. He is also survived by his four brothers and sisters-in-law and their families, Gary and Sharon Hunziker of Brigham City, UT, Ray and Brenda Hunziker of Arlington, TX, James and Kim Hunziker of St. Louis, MO and Charles and Dru Hunziker of St. Louis, MO.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Lucy Hunziker, his son Thomas L. Hunziker, Jr., his parents Paul and Marie Hunziker, his brother Paul Hunziker and his brother Danny Hunziker.
Memorial service was held 1 p.m., Sunday, February 19, 2012 at AmVets Post 7, Mountain View, Arkansas.
