Dwight David Sutterfield, 68, of Timbo entered into rest on February 15, 2012 at his home.
Dwight was born November 6, 1943 in Columbia, South Carolina to Leslie Howard and Alta Rae (Massey) Sutterfield.
Dwight was a member of Red Doors Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran during Vietnam. He earned two Master's Degrees one in Business and the other in Aviation. He was an avid flyer. He flew for 25 years, was a certified flight instructor, and an aerobatic pilot. He taught all over the state and flew many dignitaries in his career. He worked for AP&L/Entergy for 28 years. Family genealogy was a passion of his and he achieved a lifelong dream when he was able to purchase his family homestead and enjoyed farming in his later years. He also had a short career in law enforcement after retiring from AP&L. Most importantly he was a believer in his Saviour Jesus Christ, a loving husband, father, grandpa, brother and friend.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine Gail (Goodman) Sutterfield; son, Ian David Goodman Sutterfield; daughters, Beth Marie Sutterfield, Deanna Dawn Sutterfield and Leslie Jo Shafer and husband Matthew; sister, Judith Marion Harvey and the late Wes Harvey; grandchildren, Kimber Alexandra Torres, Kristin Lynn Torres, Emilee Ruth Shafer, Elijah Wayne Shafer and Isaac Phillip Shafer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Alta Sutterfield.
Visitation is 5 7 p.m., Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Roller Coffman Chapel, Mountain View.
Funeral Service is 2 p.m., Sunday, February 19, 2012 at Roller Coffman Chapel, Mountain View with Bro. John Morrow and Bro. David Campbell officiating and interment in Pordue Cemetery, Onia, Arkansas.
Pallbearers are Matthew Shafer, Dwayne Mariott, Mark Sutterfield, Jay Sutterfield, James Storey and Roy Hodges. Honorary pallbearers are Zach Trout, Garrett Trammell, Troy Morrow, Luke Henriksen, Chris Mariott, Ian Sutterfield and Beth Sutterfield.
Roller Coffman Funeral Home, Mountain View is in charge of the arrangements.
