Milton Roy Reid of Onia, Arkansas, 79, died February 14, 0212 at Washington Regional Hospital, Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Roy was born in Stanford, Texas on January 4, 1933 to Leonard Roy and Dessie (Bates) Reid.
He graduated from Cotton Center Texas High School and held various jobs until he entered the Navy, January 1954, and was honorably discharged January 19, 1961. He then entered Texas Technological College in Lubbock, Texas. Roy also earned his Masters and Doctorate in Entomology from LSU in Baton Rouge, LA in 1965. He then was a biology professor at Belhaven College in Jackson, MS. He was employed as a Pest Management Specialist with Mississippi State University until retirement in 1995.
Roy enjoyed his retirement years near Onia, AR with his wife of 55 years, Anne (Hastings). He is survived by his two daughters: Nona Lynne Nading and husband Jeffrey of Loveland CO and Dessie Anne Reed and husband Anthony of Fayetteville, AR and two grandchildren, Philip Anthony II and Bailey Claire Reed.
Visitation is 1 2 p.m., Friday, February 17, 2012 at Roller Coffman Chapel, Mtn. View.
Funeral service is 2 p.m., Friday, February 17, 2012 at Roller Coffman Chapel, Mtn. View with Bro. Johnny Wayne Williams officiating and interment in Alco Cemetery, Alco, AR.
Pallbearers are Anthony Reed, Jeffrey Nading, Philip Reed, Ricky Stewart, Uli Reuther and Foy Eddings. Honorary pallbearers are Ronnie Friddle and Mark Phillips.
