Carroll E. 'Tommy' Thompson, age 87 years, was born on the family farm home near Foard City, Texas, on August 20, 1924 and passed from this life on November 11, 2011.

He was a born again Christian, having trusted Jesus as his Savior at age 9 years. 'Tommy' was a member of Bethany Missionary Baptist Church, Onia and was a wheat farmer. He was a loving father, grandfather and brother.

Tommy served in the Army Air Force during World War II and was decorated soldier. He received and was in the Air Offensive Japan, Eastern Mandates, American Theater Campaign Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Air Medal, Victory Ribbon, One Overseas Service, two Bronze Stars to the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Serena Thompson; by his son, Michael Thompson; by three brothers, Carvel, Marlin and George Thompson and two sisters, Juanita Willeford and Oleta Wells.

He is survived by two daughters, Cheri Kroll and Shonnie Taylor both of Texas; two grandchildren, Chance Aisenbrey and Jennifer Smith; seven great-grandchildren, and a sister, Edna Lynn McKown of Texas and several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral service is 2 p.m., Monday, November 14, 2011 at Bethany Missionary Baptist Church, Onia, Arkansas with Bro. Ronnie Lee officiating and interment in Pordue Cemetery, Onia.

Pallbearers are Chance Aisenbrey, David Fletcher, Tom Tutt, Foy Eddings, Roy Jones and Gary Don Fletcher.

Honorary pallbearers are Sammy Ringo, Shonnie Taylor, Cheri Kroll and Jennifer Smith.
