Anthony N. Vittoria, 74, of Salado passed from this life Saturday, November 4, 2017, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.

Born July 14, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of Phillip Joseph Vittoria and Marjorie Faith (Nelson) Defreece.

Tony was a U S Army veteran having served in the Vietnam Era. He was a certified automotive technician, holding a bachelor's degree in automotive technology, and spent his life working in the automotive industry as a mechanic for the State of Arkansas.

He loved to build and program computers, was a ham operator and loved his animals, especially his cat "Meow Meow". He enjoyed reading, especially studying God's word and teaching Sunday school.

He was a member of Jamestown Missionary Baptist Church. Tony was a true gentleman that never met a stranger. He made friends in many places, Harp's, Triangle Cafe and Wyatt's, meeting with friends daily and solving the world's problems. His true love was his family, daughter, grandchildren, great-grandson and his wife, Caroline, whom he is now reunited with.

He is survived by a daughter, Angel Newcomb (Charles) of Salado; two grandchildren, Chelsey Dockins (Brady) and Ethan Newcomb; and a great-grandchild, Hudson Dockins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Malcom and Marjorie Defreece; and wife, Caroline (Long) Vittoria.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 9, 2017, at Jamestown Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Chris Cunningham and Bro. Keith Boswell officiating.

Burial will be at Egner Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.

Pallbearers will be Terry Long, Ethan Newcomb, John Sherberth, Benjamin Darley, Leon Vaughn, Aaron Long, Randy Russell, David Darley and Brady Dockins.

Honorary pallbearers are Kenneth Rorie, Dub Carlisle, John Hite, James Roy Young, Troy "Butch" Platt, Bro. Bill Leinenweaver, Bobby Bolin, Tommy Long, Preston Branscum and CARTI and UAMS families.

Visitation is from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 8, 2017.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 901 N. University Avenue, Little Rock, AR 72207

My heart is hollow this morning. Tony was a great man. I came to know and love him from Harps, and he was somewhat of a permanent fixture around there. Rest in Peace my dear friend. You will be forever missed. Prayers to all of his family!
