James Ray Blevins, 84, of Batesville, died Sunday, October 15, 2017.

He was born on December 6, 1932 in Cave City, Arkansas to Rual Oris Blevins and Ermil (Christenberry) Blevins.

James was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served in the Korean War.

He is survived by two sons, James Blevins (wife, Donna) of Batesville and Brian Blevins (wife, Patricia) of Searcy; two daughters, Freda Keener (husband, Bob) and Pam Morgan both of Batesville; two brothers, Carl Blevins (wife, Peggy) of Missouri and Gerald Blevins (wife, Maxine) of Batesville; four sisters, Leda Treadway, Willene St. John (husband, Sanford), Joyce Blevins, and Sherry Rounds all of Batesville; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Rual and Ermil Blevins; his wife, Mary Blevins; grandchild, David Morgan; and great-grandchild, Benjamin Keener Jr.; and sister, Fayrene Robinson.

Honorary Pallbearers are his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Graveside Service will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Campground Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home with Carl Hudson officiating.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made in his honor to Department of Arkansas, Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 1620, North Little Rock, AR 72115.

So sorry for you all loss I loved to be around J.R. when I was young he would do thing with us,he tried to teach us to drive,would take us flying in his plane and always took us to F.B's to skate. I will really miss you.
