Geneva Jewell Bangs, 85, of Batesville, died on Monday, July 3, 2017.

She was born on May 6, 1932 in St. James, Arkansas to Okie Jewell Forshee and Martha (Younger) Forshee.

Geneva retired from White Rodgers. She loved her family. She was an avid Razorback fan and enjoyed all sports.

She is survived by her son, Curtis Bangs of Fayetteville; two daughters, Gail Abernathy of Batesville and Carol Opitz of Laguna Niguel, California; one sister, Yvonne Akins of Mountain View; seven grandchildren, Heath Doolin, Nickolas Doolin, George Bangs, Brian Bangs, Chad Abernathy, Jennifer Campbell, and Kerry Holt; nine great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Okie and Martha Forshee; and her husband, Elmer Gene Bangs.

Pallbearers are Frank Abernathy, Chad Abernathy, Cole Abernathy, Curtis Bangs, and David Opitz.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Marcella Cemetery with Aaron Maxwell officiating.

There will be a visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Batesville.

I am so sorry to hear about your Mom. I just went through this in Dec and I know how heartbreaking it is. I pray that God will comfort your heart and bring you some peace of mind during the coming days! Sending hugs across the miles!

I worked with your mother for several years when I was in planning. We worked very close together on scheduling for the production line. She was a joy to work with. So sorry for your loss and I pray The Lord will give you comfort during this time of grief.
