Dorothy Viola (Davis) Tate, 85 of Batesville, died Friday, December 23, 2016.
She was born on April 28, 1931 in Searcy, Arkansas to Robert H. Davis and Jettie May (Cross) Davis.
She was passionate about fishing, loved her children, and enjoyed gardening and going to yard sales.
She is survived by six sons, Chester (wife, Corrine) Tate of Batesville, Carl (wife, Jane) Tate of Batesville, Earnest (wife, Debbie) Tate of Batesville, Robert (wife, Beverly) Tate of Batesville, Walter (wife, Cathy) Tate of Batesville, and Joe (wife, Jennifer) Tate of Batesville; four daughters, Katherine Bullard (Ben Wiggins) of Locust Grove, Lola (husband, Larry) Burba of Cave City, Effie (husband, Len) Stewart of Batesville, and Flossie (husband, Michael) Reynolds of Batesville; thirty grandchildren; fifty-six great-grandchildren; eighteen great-great-grandchildren; and many more loved family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Jettie Davis; husband, Willie Tate; son, Lester (wife, Brenda) Tate; three brothers, Lewis Davis, Marin Davis, and Donald Davie; two sisters, Roxie Stiver and Violet Standridge; daughter-in-law, Pamela Tate; two son-in-laws, Donnie Apple and Marlin Bullard; and great-grandson, Jaydan Burba.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
The funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Southside Church of Christ with Bill Cline officiating. Burial will follow at Kyler Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm on Monday, December 26, 2016.
