Linda ''Lindy'' Jeanne Bissell of Batesville and Cherokee Village, Arkansas died Thursday, September 22, 2016, in Batesville.
Born March 25, 1945, in Jamestown, New York, she was the daughter of Dr. G. Donald Bissell and Carol Elaine Bissell.
Lindy was born with special needs and required 24 hour care throughout her life. She was eventually diagnosed with Rett Syndrome. Often called ''Silent Angels,'' Dr. Andreas Rett said ''''¦.remember what I have always tried to say: watch the wonderful expression of the eyes of these girls, an expression which makes them so lovable.''
Survivors include three brothers, Jack Bissell of Cherokee Village, Gary Bissell of Batesville and Randy Bissell of Buffalo, New York. She is also survived by nieces Whitney DiMattia of Studio City, California and Emily Nealey of Ardmore, Oklahoma; and nephews, Curtis Grantham of Wylie, Texas and Ryan Grantham of Cabot, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
There will be a graveside service at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 26, 2016, at Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville.
Visitation is from 4:00-6:00 p.m., Sunday at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to fund treatments and a cure for Rett Syndrome at www.rettsyndrome.org.
Sorry for your loss. I knew Lindy through Judy Brooks, who was one of her caregivers.
We are sorry for your loss. She was a true blessing.
