Carolyn Marie Thompson, 70, of Batesville, Arkansas died Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at Pioneer Nursing Home in Melbourne.

She was born in Moorefield, Arkansas on October 26, 1945, to Edward Lawrence and Sally Marie (Layton) Thompson.

Carolyn enjoyed gardening, the outdoors, and animals. She was a member of the Quail Valley Freewill Baptist Church. Her church family was important to her as well as her love for her own family.

She is survived by three brothers, Dwane Thompson and wife, Gwen of Batesville, Wilburn Thompson and wife, Gerlene of California, and Thurl Thompson and wife, Lanelle, also of California. Other survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Larry Thompson, Hoyd Thompson, and Eldon Thompson; and one sister, Sybil Sims.

Pallbearers will be Edwin Thompson, Jimmy Thompson, Tim Thompson, Jay Runyan, Charlie Thompson, and Dustin Crawford. Honorary pallbearers are Ed Dunham, Cameron Thompson, Logan Thompson, and the Nursing Home Staff of Pioneer Therapy and Rehab.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2016, at Quail Valley Freewill Baptist Church in Batesville with Bro. Hoover Lewis and Bro. Nick Eanes officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 21, 2016 at the funeral home.

So sorry to hear this. Prayers for all of you. I worked with Carolyn for almost 15 years at the Shoe Factory. She was such and sweet person and loved her family so much. I am sure she will be missed by many.
