Elma Kay High, 91, of Newark, Arkansas died Friday, April 1, 2016, at Wood-Lawn Nursing Home in Batesville.
Born January 19, 1925, in Lunenburg, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Harrison S. Brooks and Lavinia (Richardson) Brooks.
She was a homemaker, loved gardening, canning, and was an excellent cook. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Newark.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dan High; one brother, Buddy Brooks; and four sisters, Pearl Bonham, Zelda Horton, Zada Dugger and Velma Brooks.
There will be a funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 3, 2016, at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Goodwin officiating.
Burial will be in Turner Cemetery in Emory, Texas.
Visitation is from 1:30-2:00 p.m., Sunday prior to the service.

So sorry to read about Mrs. High in the paper today. She was a sweetheart. We always enjoyed visiting with her when she lived in Newark and then later at Woodlawn. Will miss her.
