of Peel, AR
August 7, 1927 - October 10, 2018
Gloria Grozis, age 91, of Peel, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2018 in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
Gloria was born August 7, 1927 in Elgin, Illinois to the late Leo and Evelyn (Tucker) Tillman. She was a homemaker. She had lived in the area for 42 years, and she was a member of Peel Full Gospel Church in Peel, Arkansas. A member of Peel Red Hattitudes and a master crafter, she enjoyed bowling and going to Oklahoma Casinos.
Gloria always tried to make the world a little prettier with her crafts. She made beautiful dolls, sparkling jewelry and painted butterflies and flowers on bags, t-shirts and quilt blocks. She also loved to listen to music and sing in harmony with her family. One of her greatest joys was to have her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren sing ''You are my Sunshine'' with her.
Gloria and her twin sister, Betty Mersman, were the first twins born in Saint Joseph Hospital in Elgin, Illinois. It was really hard to tell them apart and even some of their closest friends would mistake them, something that they got used to and took in stride. Gloria leaves many wonderful friends in Peel and now joins some of them again.
She is survived by her husband Bill Grozis of Peel, Arkansas; two sons: Jack (Debbie) Martin and Mark (Paula) Grozis all of Peel, Arkansas; a daughter Cathy (Bernie) Haerter of Peel, Arkansas; a brother Tom Tillman of Richmond, Illinois; five grandchildren: Chip Freeman, Kurt Freeman, Tegan Schultz, Shayna Godbehere, and Will Grozis; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her identical twin sister Betty Mersman; her brother Roger Tillman and her sister Donna Simmons.
A memorial service will be 11:00 am, Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Peel Full Gospel Church in Peel, Arkansas with Bro. Carroll Johnson officiating.
Memorials may be made to Peel Full Gospel Church or Peel Cemetery Association.
Roller-Burns Funeral Home.
