Helen D. Wright Smithers, 89, of Warrensburg, MO formerly of Benton passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2018 in Warrensburg. She was born June 26, 1929 in Benton, AR to the late Orville and Jesse Cox Wright. Mrs. Smithers was also preceded in death by her husband, James Powers Smithers; daughter, Karen Lynn Smithers; one brother, Bill Wright, and two sisters, Gladys Mary Woolridge and Dorothy Jean Gelasco.

Mrs. Smithers was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by one son, Jimmy Don Smithers and wife Sonia of Warrensburg; one brother, Bob Wright of Benton; one sister-in-law, Donna Wright of Benton; two grandchildren, Brandon Smithers of Independence, MO and Brittney Bettonville and husband Chris of St. Louis, MO; two great grandchildren, River and Killian Smithers, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service is 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 15, 2018 in the chapel of Roller-Ballard Funeral Home (315-4047) in Benton with Bro. Terry Sayers officiating. Interment will follow in Fairplay Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to her two favorite charities, the American Cancer Society and/or the Humane Society of your choice.

Haven't seen or talked to Helen in years but have thought of her often. My condolences to the family. She was a lovely lady and I know she will be missed.

My thought and prayers are with y’all. I was going through some old family photos and seeing Aunt Helen with all the other aunts and uncles brought back a lot of poignant memories.🙏🙏
