Veronica "Ronnie" Murphy

of Oakham, MA

January 24, 1942 - May 15, 2018

Veronica ''Ronnie'' Murphy, age 76, formerly of Mountain Home, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2018 in Oakham, Massachusetts.
She was born January 24, 1942 in Hays, Kansas to Alexander and Minna (Koestel) Phannenstiel. On June 6, 1964, she married Robert Murphy in Denver, Colorado.
She and Bob fulfilled their retirement dream of moving to Mountain Home full-time 19 years ago from Sioux City, South Dakota after being part-time residents for many years. They were both dedicated members of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church. Ronnie loved being a grandmother and spending time with her family, including her various beloved dogs. She was kind and fun, and a woman of many talents, including singing, sewing beautiful clothing, flower-arranging, and making a mean gingerbread man. Her kindness belied her underlying toughness-raising three children while Bob did three tours of duty in Viet Nam, moving every few years as the wife of a career military officer, overcoming alcohol addiction, and surviving cancer. She helped others battling cancer by volunteering at Peitz Cancer Support House and Reach to Recovery
Survivors are her three daughters: Kelly A. Murphy (husband Daniel Sullivan): Carbondale, Colorado; Christine M. Murphy (husband Peter Ammon): Breckenridge, Colorado; and Theresa L. Murphy (husband Troy Rapp): Oakham, Massachusetts; grandchildren Mia and Jacob Ammon and Kian Sullivan; sister Annita Watts, and many nieces and nephews and sisters-in-law. She was preceded in death by her husband Bob, parents, and brothers Louis and Rudolph.
Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Friday, May 25, 2018, at Roller Funeral Home. A Vigil Service will be at 7 P.M. in the Roller Chapel with Deacon Robert Crawford officiating. The Funeral Mass will be 10 A.M. Saturday, May 26, 2018 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church with Reverend Nazarus Maduba as celebrant, brunch to follow. Entombment will be in Baxter Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to St. Peter's Scholarship Fund. Visit our online guestbook at www.rollerfuneralhomes.com.

My dear, sweet Ronnie,

The first day I met you, our souls connected. Over two and one-half years, we spent countless hours together holding hands, talking, listening to music, the sounds of birds, or sometimes just in silence. You have made a meaningful impact on my life, as well as many others, and I am incredibly ul to have been a part of your journey. I will certainly miss the time we had together, but knowing that you are no longer suffering makes me feel better.

I would also like to thank the Murphy girls (and Troy) for sharing your mom with me. You have all been wonderful and I am most appreciative!!

Peace and Love to all.

Sue

Veronica was my Godmother. Some of my earliest memories are of her when we visited my Granparents in Denver. I Had a huge crush for her. She was beautiful and always showed me love.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all and may she Rest In Peace and be another Angel on our shoulders.

Our condolences to all of you on the passing of Ronnie. We have wonderful memories of Mom and a Dad here at St. Peter's. Worked many Paul Bunyans on the serving line with Mom, sharing many laughs along the way. Attended a couple of Knights State Conventions, again having some fun times and making great memories. Mom was never without a smile. May she rest in peace and may God bestow his peace and comfort on you.

So sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in the words spoken at Revelation 21:3,4 “With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them.
And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away".
