Viola Brown Sample, 78, of Southside died Friday, May 11, 2018.
Born September 9, 1939, she was the daughter of Olta Brown and Sophie Harmon Brown.
Viola was deeply devoted to her husband, Cole, and family. Family was her world and always welcome in her home. Spending time with them was her greatest joy. She was a member of the Desha Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Cole Sample of Southside; son, Edward L. McClusky (Yvonne) of Pine Bluff; daughter, Patricia Waters (Lloyd) of Thida; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Nolan R. Brown (Connie) of Searcy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and previous husband, Norman Hook.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at Desha Church of Christ with Craig Wilson officiating.
Pallbearers will be Andrew McClusky, Tommy Berry, Chris Waters, and Bradley Waters.
Burial will be in Scantlin Cemetery at Bradford under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
Visitation is from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 15 at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Batesville.

Viola was such a sweet caring woman. We hadn't seen her in years but never forgot her and Cole's kindness. She will be missed by so many.
We will miss our sweet Aunt Viola. We love her dearly. Especially that sweet happy smile and love for others. Heaven gained an angel💙
