Aubrey Clayton WhittI am a Veteran.

of North Little Rock, AR

November 12, 1924 - February 10, 2018

His work on earth complete, AUBREY CLAYTON WHITT, 93, of North Little Rock, transitioned home to his Lord and Savior February 10, 2018, and was joyously reunited with the love of his life-his wife of over 72 years, Marie. Born in Roland, November 12, 1924, to parents Virgil and Cassie Whitt, Aubrey was the oldest of 11 siblings.

He graduated from Joe T. Robinson High School and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Coast Guard in 1943. A gifted baseball and softball player, Aubrey coached the first Burns Park baseball team (Levy Cubs) and spent years coaching both his boys' baseball teams. After coaching, he served as Treasurer of Burns Park Baseball Association for a number of years. He turned to golf as his passion after he hung up his bat and glove.

He was a founding member of Faith Baptist Church in North Little Rock and one of the first Boy Scout Masters of Troop 133, also in North Little Rock (Levy). In recent years, he attended Remount Baptist Church in North Little Rock.

Aubrey worked for the Federal Reserve Bank for 43 years, retiring as Human Resources and Administration Director. He was a 32nd degree Mason and lifetime member of the Roland Lodge.

Aubrey was preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife, infant brother William, brother Virgil, Jr., sisters Phyllis and Kay, daughter-in-law Beverly and infant grandson Jon Derrick.

Left to treasure his memory are his sons Danny (Ann) and Bill (Janet); grandchildren, David (Tracye), Heather (John), James (Erin) and Nathan (Amy); great grandchildren Preston, Clayton, Aaron, Peyton, Lillian, Griffin and Madilyn; and great-great granddaughter Gia. He is also survived by his brothers Wayne, Larry and Russel; sisters Oma, Virginia Lee and Lynda; and many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank Gean of First Choice Senior Care and Arkansas Hospice.

Funeral Service will be 2 P.M., Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd., North Little Rock, AR 72116 (501-791-7400) with Pastor Gene Tanner officiating. Burial will be at 12:00 Noon, Friday, February 16, 2018 at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.

I wanted to say that I am so very sorry for your loss. My grandfather A.T. Dunlap and Mr. Whitt were friends most of their lives and he was so saddened to hear of his passing. I know that my grandparents A.T. and Angie, have much trouble getting around and are so sorry they won't be able to attend the funeral. Our family wishes you much love, comfort, and strength in the following days, God bless and you will be in our prayers!

Much love,
A.T. , Angie, and Holly Dunlap

Danny, Bill and family,

My sincerest condolences on the death of your dad. Your dad was the last of the rook foursome and the end or an era for us. We have so many wonderful memories of the multitude of things our parents did together. They truly were the definition of friendship. I don't think two couples have ever been closer.
Your dad was a great example for us all. I fondly remember those Burns Park baseball days and his leadership in establishing the sport, as well as making it available to us all. He certainly made a positive impression on a substantial number of young people. He will be missed, but he will not be forgotten.
