It's been five years since Beverly passed, and I still think of her often. She is my role model for how a teacher should be. When I got my teaching degree, I called her to tell her she was the biggest reason I chose this career. She made everyone who knew her feel loved and appreciated. All of us who knew her will keep her beloved memory alive for as long as we live.

We are both sorry for your loss! I had told Deon once that his mom looked familiar. I realized later that because my dad was coaching girls basketball around the time she graduated that I remembered her playing basketball at cushman.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Stevens family. Mrs. Stevens touched the lives of many and will forever be remembered for her sweet voice, gentle heart, and commitment to education. One could survey far and near and none would have a negative word to say about Beverly. Her life was a witness of Christian living. She was a gentle, loving soul with the warmest of smiles and twinkling eyes. Others knew to trust her and always felt comforted in her presence. Those of us lucky enough to call her friend will forever be better people because of her.
