of Bee Branch, AR
September 14, 1945 - January 15, 2018
James ''Jim'' Arthur Hiland, 72, of Bee Branch, Arkansas, slipped away to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 15, 2018 surrounded by his devoted family. He was born September 14, 1945 in Scotland, Arkansas to the late Arthur and Eureka (McCoy) Hiland. Jim is preceded in death by a beloved grandmother Eva Hiland, sisters Meta Johnson (Bully), Ouita Earney (Floyd), Billye Palmer (Dib); and his brother J. W. Hiland (Doris). Jim was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Damascus and devoted his life to his family and his Heavenly Father. Jim loved to work and enjoyed his work with Lifeword Ministries and traveling with Medical Missions. Jim brought light and warmth to an often times dark and cold world and was loved very much by his friends and family, who will dearly miss his unconditional love and affection. Left to cherish his memory is his loving family, wife Kay of 47 years; a son Cody and wife Jana Hiland of Conway; a daughter Kami and husband Jamie Haguewood of Potosi, Missouri; 9 grandchildren, Abigail, Claire, Emma, Jamison, Caitlyn, John Reagan, Ethan, Benjamin and Gideon; sisters, Betty Lou Pike (Dean) and Mary Ann Parish (Glen) both of Conway, Arkansas; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway. Funeral service will be 10 am, Thursday, January 18, 2018 at First Baptist Church, Damascus with interment to follow at Blackwell Cemetery in Bee Branch with Brother Daniel Williams officiating and the First Baptist Brotherhood Class as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lifeword, BMMI (Baptist Medical Missions International), or the Gideons International.
Cody and family......my sympathy for the loss of Mr. Jim ... I missed him this summer when we wrapped shoe boxes at Lifeword..He was a light to us all and will be missed .
So sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in the words spoken at Revelation 21:3,4
(3) "With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. (4)
And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away".
Lois and I were so sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Reading Rev. 21:3, 4 and John 5:25 have always brought me comfort, and hopefully will do the same for you.
