Alma Wadsworth St. John, 96, of Conway, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2017. She was born November 18, 1921 to Sam and Stella Wadsworth. Alma was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, B.J. St. John, 2 brothers, 3 sisters, and son in law, James ''Jim'' Hoggard, Jr.

Alma and B.J. moved to Stuttgart in 1945, where they lived for nearly 60 years. Alma, a stay at home mom, was active in civic and school projects pertaining to her children and church. She was a life member of the Stuttgart Hospital Auxiliary and a 55 year member of AMICI Club, a federated women's club. They were active members of First United Methodist Church in Stuttgart where Alma was presented a life membership in UMW by the women of the church. They moved to Conway in 2003 to be near their daughter and joined Grace United Methodist Church. Alma was a considerate, generous woman who devoted her life to her family. She will be remembered as a classy southern lady by many.

Alma is survived by her daughters, Kay Blackard (''Sandy'') of Decatur, AL, and Susan Hoggard of Conway; 7 grandchildren, Jay Hoggard, Misty Young (Everett), Cherish Wellman (Zac), Hillary Simmons (Matthew), Haven Taylor, Bruce Blackard (Deedee), and Beth Kellum (Kelly); 11 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

There will be no services scheduled for Mrs. St. John; she wished to donate her remains to science.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Ms. St. John. I only knew her through the dental office as I worked for Conway Family Dental. She was the most precious lady with the most beautiful smile. I know she will be missed by so many . My deepest sympathy to you all.
