Doris Jean Fritschie, 87, a resident of Fort Smith, formerly of Prairie View passed away Sunday, December 3, 2017, at the Alma Healthcare and Rehab Center.
She was born December 10, 1929, in Prairie View to the late John Henry and Radna Roberta (Ewing) Fox. Doris spent 23 of her working years as a Registered Nurse in the Oncology Department at Sparks Hospital in Fort Smith. She was a member of the St. Meinrad Catholic Church in Prairie View and the St. Meinrad Mother's Society.
In addition to her parents Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Edward A. Fritsche; a son, Earl Wayne Fritschie and two brothers, L.R. ''Bub'' and John Edwin Fox.
Survivors include a son, Billy Ray Fritschie of Alma; a daughter, Barbara Scott of Alma; a brother, Charles Fox; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at the St. Meinrad Catholic Church in Prairie View with the rosary service to follow at 7:00 p.m.
The funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 7, 2017, at the St. Meinrad Catholic Church with Father John Miranda officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Meinrad Catholic Cemetery in Prairie View under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris. Online guestbook available at www.rollerfuneralhomes.com/paris.
Pallbearers will be Brian Scott, Seth Fritschie, Zackary Fritschie, Eric Fritschie, Danny Fritschie and Richard Fox.

I am so sorry to hear of Doris' passing. I worked with Doris for over 15 years at Sparks. She was so compassionate regarding her patients. She was my friend and I loved her dearly. Doris will be missed by so many that had the privilege and honor to know her. Prayers for her family and friends. May God hold you in His arms in your time of sorrow. God bless you all.
