James Harvey Parnell of Flippin, Arkansas passed away Friday, September 22, 2017 at the age of 85 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Harvey was born on April 21, 1932 to the late James William and Ida M. (Ott) Parnell in Rea Valley, Arkansas. He lived his entire life in this area and enjoyed hunting and fishing. During his life he worked as a guide on the white river, a cattle farmer, carpenter and also did construction. He retired from Baxter Health Care after 21 years of service. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Mr. Parnell is survived by his wife Jean of the home; Sons, Harlan Parnell and wife Debbie of Flippin, Arkansas and Gary Parnell and wife Jennifer of Nixa, Mo; Sister Mary Catherine Campbell of Albuquerque New Mexico; Grandchildren Joshua and Hannah Parnell.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Thelma Carroll, Vera James and Wilma Jean Parnell.
Visitation will be held at Roller-Burns Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 pm on Monday, September 25, 2017. Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 am at The Cotter Church of Christ on Tuesday, September 26, 2017. Interment to follow at Flippin cemetery.
Pallbearers for this service will be, Howard Campbell, Harold Bates, Kelly Hurst, Anthony Davenport, Bert Benton and Joshua Parnell.
