Ellen Marie Canamore Whitington, 90 of Searcy, Arkansas entered into rest on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 in Searcy Health and Rehab. She was born March 26, 1927 in Higginson, Arkansas daughter of the late Mack & Carrie Canamore. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Whitington, one son James Steward and one brother Henry Canamore.
She is survived by her daughter Pat Mize (Charles) and two granddaughters, Kari Shannon (Boyd) and Cindy Alumbaugh (Everett), four great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Whitington retired from Zales Jewelry. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star Chapter #248 and First Baptist Church of Beebe, Arkansas.
Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Friday, August 18, 2017 at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home Chapel, Searcy, Arkansas with Bro. Bob Hall officiating. Interment will follow in the Kensett Cemetery with Charles Mize, Everett Alumbaugh, Boyd Huff, Tarzan Alumbaugh, Ty Alumbaugh, John Rhoades and Jerry Wooley serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be 9:00 AM Friday, August 18, 2017 at Roller-Daniel Chapel.

Ellen and James added so much to our Eastern Star meetings when they were able to come. I always enjoyed having her at Kensett Ingram-Watkins Chapter. She will be missed. She was a very sweet person.

Ellen Marie's father was a brother to my grandmother, Nancy Ellen Canamore Johnston. I admired Ellen Marie so much for all the work she did to better our lives as in seeing to it that public bldgs. were accessible for the handicapped. Heaven will be blessed that she is there.
