Robbie Ann Scott

of North Little Rock, AR

September 25, 1939 - February 19, 2017

Robbie Ann Scott, age 77, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2017. She was born to the late James Walter Lasiter and Edna Williams Lasiter on September 25, 1939.

Robbie grew up in Levy. During her teenage years, she could always be found at her father's business, Jim's Roller Rink. She was an avid skater and enjoyed spending time at the crossroads of the North Little Rock social scene. Robbie attended North Little Rock High School before attending Arkansas Tech University where she studied elementary education. After graduation, she began a 20+ year teaching career which included classrooms full of lively little ones at North Heights Elementary and Rose City Elementary, to name just a couple. As her formal teaching career came to a close, she continued her passion of working with young people at Arkansas Children's Hospital. During those years, she left a mark on the lives of many.

Being a mother to her students, her own children, and to her children's friends was her passion and delight! The door was always open at ''156 High'' as she, along with her husband, Ed, welcomed any kid who needed refuge or just someone to talk to. She listened without judgment and almost always was able to provide comfort with her words and wisdom. There are many still who refer to Robbie as their second mother and remember that her counsel often rescued them from certain peril.

Robbie was a colorful personality full of funny phrases and a gifted decorator who followed her kids around the world to make their spaces feel like home. She cherished her Ed, her children and grandchildren, her close friends, her dear brother Mike, her ''adopted'' son, John Ladd, her puppies, and spending quality time with family.

Robbie is survived by her husband, Ed Scott; her brother Mike Lasiter (Carolyn); and children, Summer Bartczak, Shan Scott (Joy), and Sundi Scott (Peter Petropoulakos). She also leaves behind eight grandchildren and numerous loving relatives and friends.

Just found out about Robbie's passing and I can't say I was surprised but I can say how hurt I am. Robbie was a rare friend and mentor. She taught me much bout life, love, family, children and adolescents. She had the light of the sun in her soul which she gave freely. Love and prayers to Ed, Shan n Joy, Summer, Sunday, Uncle Mike n Carolynn, and to John Ladd. May God Bless you all I know you miss her terribly.

I remember "Miss Robbie." When I was a very young teacher, I taught with Robbie at Rose City Elementary in NLR. I just loved her! She definitely had a "larger than life" personality. I am very sad to hear of her passing. May God comfort her loved ones.

So sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in the words spoken at Revelation 21:3,4
(3) "With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. (4)
And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away".

I was one of the lucky "little ones" at North Heights Elementary. It's hard to imagine that someone can leave a such remarkable impression on a first grader. The scary idea of going to school just disappeared when I met Miss Robbie. It was clear that I was extra special to her because we shared the same name! Little did I know then that every student felt extra special to her. And that was her gift. She was a caring, compassionate and amazing teacher. I pray for comfort for your family.

Dear Summer and Family, my deepest condolences to you all at this time. I am John's aunt ("aint"), and he informed me of your precious Mother, Grandmother, Friend (Miss Robbie) and her home-going. Through the years I have heard John speak of his second "Mom," and her dear family. What a beautiful lady she was, inside and out. Due to distance and circumstances I cannot be there, but my thoughts and prayers are with each of you. May God give you His comfort and His peace that passes understanding during the coming days. Debrah McWilliams Donner ("aint").

To my dear friend Sundi and all of the Scott family I want to communicate my most heartfelt condolences. Your mother was a kind person with a great heart who made the world better because she was in it. Her profound goodness and joy is forever reflected in you whom she loved so much. Sending love and prayers for the entire family. It brought a smile to read about her. I didn't meet her many times, but she always made me laugh about something. She sounds like a remarkable lady from what I just got to read about her. Praying for comfort and peace from the void she leaves in the hearts of many.
