Charles Baxter Burk, age 82, of West Helena, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at his home. Mr. Burk was born April 5, 1934 at Trenton, Arkansas to the late Hubert and Dorothy Burk. He worked as a millwright for Faust Saw Mill for over 20 years and served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Cathy; three sons, Chuck Burk (Tammy) of Philadelphia, Mississippi, Barry Burk (Cindy) of Ecru, Mississippi and Jonathan Burk of West Helena; two daughters, Renae Melton (Ricky) of Ecru, Mississippi and Christina Thomason (Justin) of West Helena; ten grandchildren, Griffin, Kaitlin, Jimmy, Angelica, Stacy, Amanda, Asia, Cal-El, Rosalee and Rogue; eleven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Myrtis Duffel (Charles) of Marvell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Buddy Burk; and sister, Helen Whitby.
A service for Charles Burk will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 13, 2017 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena. Brother Audie Richardson will officiate.
Pallbearers are Chuck Burk, Barry Burk, Griffin Burk, Jeff Mooneyham, Roy Corbitt, John Newberry, Jonathan Burk, Anakin McCord and James Lee.
Services will be directed by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, West Helena, (870) 572-2571.
