Roy M. Wood, age 69, of Flippin, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at his home.
Mr. Wood was born February 12, 1949 in West Plains, Missouri. He was a United States Army veteran of Vietnam. He had lived in the area most of his life. Roy enjoyed spending time outdoors taking his children and grandchildren fishing. He showed anyone willing to learn how to knapp arrowheads and created beautiful display boards. His favorite activity was spending time with family. He will be remembered as a loving and doting father who always made sure that his children were taken care of.
Roy is survived by two sons: Travis (Jaela) Wood of Mountain Home, Arkansas; Josh Wood of Harrison, Arkansas; four daughters: Karen (Johnny ) Harris of Flippin, Arkansas; Kailey Hughes of Mountain Home, Arkansas; Kasey (Tim) Musgrove of Flippin, Arkansas; Kelsey Wood of Clarkridge, Arkansas; one brother Rob Fruehan of Washington; fourteen grandchildren: Hunter, Karrigan, Tony, Doug, Levi, Rain, Bo, Justin, Kaitlin, Samera, Madison, Dakota, Timothy, and Ryleigh.
He was preceded in death by his mother Virginia Fruehan; his wife Jodie Wood; and his son Michael Wood.
A memorial service will be at noon, Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 2236 MC 7055 in Flippin.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House, 701 Burnett Drive, Mountain Home, AR 72653.
Arrangements are by Roller-Burns Funeral Home in Yellville, Arkansas.
So sorry for your loss. We had the opportunity to come and visit Roy a few years ago with my brothers and sisters. It was a great day of sitting in the shade and visiting. He will be greatly missed.
I was truly blessed to have known you, the joy that radiated from you was truly an awesome thing to witness. I am and will always be honored to be a part of your life and your family. You raised 7 wonderful children who will always have your smile, your patience and your love to guide them! Only a truly magnificent man can do all that you did in life for your family and remain true and uncorrupted. You are the best of the best and I will always keep a special place in my heart for you!
