Billy "Bill" Joe Shipman

of Bruno, AR

May 13, 1937 - April 28, 2018

Billy Joe ''Bill'' Shipman, age 80, of Bruno, Arkansas passed away Saturday, April 28, 2018.

He was born May 16, 1937 in Freck, Arkansas to the late Loy B. and Nora (Davis) Shipman. He had been self-employed as a carpenter and he was a member of Freck Church of Christ.

Bill was a grateful person and loved the family. He was a wonderful cook and enjoyed new recipes. He loved a garden and flowers. His time was spent with brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews. Every year the family would get together for a hiking trip with a picnic lunch and we went to different places in Arkansas, to be home by dark.
Bill was good with carpenter work and spent lots of time in the shop. If someone in the family was sick, he was there to see them. We love you.

Bill is survived by his brother Dwight Shipman of Bruno, Arkansas; and two sisters: Mary Sue Swayne of Ward, Arkansas; and Rose Nell Beach of Bruno, Arkansas, two sisters-in-law: Nola Shipman of Yellville, Arkansas; and Lois Shipman of Quitman, Texas.

He was preceded in death by six brothers: Verl, Leon, Ray, Vance, Zell, and Kenneth Shipman; and one sister Betty Jean Shipman.

Funeral service will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Roller-Burns Funeral Home Chapel with Bruce Trogdon officiating.

Interment will follow at Freck Cemetery near Yellville, Arkansas.

Pallbearers will be Mark Stoops, Louie Stoops, Michael Shipman, Jacob Shipman, Zack Shipman, Jeff Trogdon, and Branden Shipman.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Freck Cemetery Fund, c/o Larry Brightwell, 101 MC 6027, Yellville, AR 72687
