Robert Burkitt, age 89, of Bruno, Arkansas passed away Monday February 5, 2018 at his home.
Mr. Burkitt was born January 16, 1929 in Orchardville, Illinois to the late Terry and Beulah (Lee) Burkitt. He had been a machinist with Fran Manufacturing in Sterling, Illinois. He was a United States Army veteran of Korea. Robert enjoyed traveling, fishing for catfish, and camping; but most of all he enjoyed family activities especially those with his grandchildren.
Robert is survived by his wife Beverly Ruth Burkitt of the home; four sons: Robert Dale Burkitt of Evergreen, Colorado; Larry Burkitt of Wright City, Missouri; Danny Burkitt and R.C. Henson, both of Bruno, Arkansas; four daughters: Leota Lafavre of Rockfalls, Illinois; Debbie Woessner of Sterling, Illinois; Sandra Bolton of Woodlawn, Illinois; Barbara Short of Highland, Illinois; several grandchildren as well as several great-grandchildren.
A Gathering of Friends will be from 1:00 to 3:00 pm Friday, February 9, 2018 at Roller-Burns Funeral Home.

Lois and I were so sorry to hear of Robert’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. God’s word says death is an enemy, and it certainly is. Reading Rev. 21:3, 4 and John 5:25 have always brought us comfort, and hopefully will do the same for you.

My sympathies to Robert's Arkansas family. How fortunate you were to know & love him in his latter part of his life.
My fondest memories growing up is of Robert & Fern together with their son (Bob) & 2 daughters Debbie & Leota who are still and always will be a very big part of my life.The laughter & love for all the fun times spent on Kloss St.in Rock Falls, Illinois with this family will forever be a part of me.
Robert you will be missed !!!
