James Leroy ''Jim'' Cheever, age 55, of Yellville, Arkansas, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2017 in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

Jim was born July 16, 1962 to Perry and Bernice Cheever in Shakopee, Minnesota. He married his wife, Denise, December 29, 1990. He enjoyed figure-eight racing at the Raceway Park in Shakopee; he was a diehard Mopar fan. He and Denise moved to the area in 1995 and opened Cheever'sAuto Service and Towing in Yellville where he was owner/operator. He served the community with Yellville Volunteer Fire Department as for 20 years attaining the rank of Captain; a first responder, and city councilman. He was Catholic by faith.

Jim is survived by his wife, Denise of the home; two sons: Corey Cheever and Perry Cheever (Megan) both of Yellville; two granddaughters: McKenzie Faith Cheever and Madilyn Grace Cheever; his brother Dan Cheever (Carolyn) of Yellville; three sisters: Sarah Mobley (Ken) of Ortonville, Minnesota; Tessie Schmidt (Phillip) of Shakopee, Minnesota; and Anne Marie Herrmann (Dan) of Belle Plaine, Minnesota; several nieces and nephews; and many other friends and relatives.
He was preceded in death by a Grandson Brantley Leroy Cheever

A gathering of family and friends will be Friday, November 3, 2017 from 1:00 pm until service time at Roller-Burns Funeral Home in Yellville, Arkansas.

A prayer service will follow at Roller-Burns Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 pm led by Deacon Steve Triner of St. Andrews Catholic Church in Yellville, Arkansas.

Memorials may be made to Yellville Volunteer Fire Department, or to the family.

Our deepest sympathies to Jim's family. He was a wonderful man. He helped my daughter and myself many times over the years. He was such a fair, honest, and decent man. He provided great service to the community for many years and will be sorely missed.
