Gerald M. Smith, age 91, of Commerce, Oklahoma, formerly of Yellville, Arkansas passed away Monday, October 23, 2017 in Commerce, Oklahoma.

Gerald was born March 13, 1926 to Floyd M. and Gertrude Ann (Kester) Smith in Marion County Arkansas. He married Ruby Fay Callahan February 19, 1946. She preceded him in death January 17, 2014 after celebrating 68 years of marriage. He was a United States Army veteran. Gerald was a welder and worked on the Bull Shoals Dam before moving to Wichita, Kansas in 1952. He worked for Cessna Aircraft for 30 years, retiring as Plant Manager of the Cessna Wallace/Prospect Division. He was a 32nd degree Mason for over 50 years and a Shriner. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Yellville, Arkansas. He and Ruby returned to rural Yellville in 1982 after their retirement and enjoyed many years with family and friends.

Gerald is survived by his son Don and his wife, Kyle, of Wichita, Kansas; his daughter Freda Cantrell and her husband, Tommy, of Miami, Oklahoma; five grandchildren: Angie Milam (Kirk) of Bentonville, Arkansas; Kelsey Nichols (Kevin); Zack Smith (Stephanie); Traci Swindler (Scott); and Todd Willing all of Wichita, Kansas; seven grandchildren: Dylan, Kinsey, Natalie, Blake, Kylie, Grace, and Gabrielle; and two great-great-grandchildren: Emma Marie, and Dylan; and his sister Betty Lou James of Yellville.

Visitation will be 1:00 pm, Friday, October 27, 2017 at Roller-Burns Funeral Home in Yellville, Arkansas.

Funeral service will be 2:00 pm, Friday, October 27, 2017 at Roller-Burns Funeral Home in Yellville, Arkansas with Bro. Fred Goodall and Bro. Jack Jefferson officiating.

Interment will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near Yellville.

Pallbearers will be Gary Thomas, Andy James, Terry Fisk, Alvin Keeter, Larry Brightwell, and Fred Burrow
