John Robert Kelly age 78, of Flippin, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
John was born January 3, 1939 in Albia, Iowa, to the late John Edward Kelly and Marie (Major) Kelly. He was a member of Rea Valley Baptist Church, He had been employed as Assistant Director of Iowa Department of Transportation, from which he retired. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting and gardening. He was a United States Army veteran.
Mr. Kelly is survived by his wife Teresha Kelly of Flippin, Arkansas; five sons: Robert Kelly and his wife, Connie, of Bussey, Iowa; Dennis Kelly of Osskalusa, Iowa; Robert Dodson of Flippin, Arkansas; Johnnie Kelly and his wife, Debbie, of Knoxville, Iowa; Mark Dodson and his wife, Amber, of Mountain Home, Arkansas; one daughter Deb Kelly of Des Moines, Iowa; one sister Regina Mallory of Des Moines, Iowa; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his sons: Kerry Kelly and Billy Joe Dodson; and his brothers: George Kelly and Tony Kelly.
Visitation for Mr. Kelly will be Saturday, September 9, 2017 from 10:00 am until service time.
Funeral service with military honors will be 11:00 am Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Rea Valley Baptist Church with Bro. Jack Gilliland officiating.
