Vince was born on April 5, 1949 in Ironton, Ohio to Howard and Rebecca (Hampson) Wince. He spent much of his youth in LaSalle-Peru, Illinois where he was active in scouting, achieving Order of the Arrow and Eagle. He graduated from LaSalle-Peru Township High School in 1967 and received a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.
Vince and his wife Mary arrived in the Ozarks in 1976 and made their home just south of Bruno. Vince retired after working as a long-time employee in the wiring shop at Ranger Boats. He was an avid reader, especially fond of presidential history, National Geographic, and current events. He was intrigued by maps and loved to discover ''new'' back roads in his '69 Chevy pickup. Vince enjoyed listening to a wide variety of music, loved the challenge of ''Name That Tune'' music trivia, and was known to serenade his country neighbors by playing his coronet. He kept his mind sharp by doing daily puzzles''''anacrostic, logic, and Sudoku''''and loved to help others crack the mystery of the Rubik's cube. His favorite place was the back porch where he enjoyed swapping good stories with friends. Vince was a loving husband, family member, and friend.
Vince is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary; a sister Martha Klug and her husband, Jim, of Colorado; a brother Nathan Wince and his wife Sandy of Ohio; a sister Zola Wince Knight of Ohio, and a sister Margaret Wince and her husband Rick Myers of Ohio.

I knew Jeff from his college years. He was indeed a good guy, and I am sorry I didn't get a chance to reconnect with him in later years.

Love you forever Vinnie. Thanks for being a friend since we were 9 years old and planning Trina call me Kate and my happy wedding. We loved spending a week in the holler south of Bruno with you and Mary. It was an honor to have you two as our only wedding planners and guests at our wedding reception. We review the photos and listen to music you made just for us. All ways always.....Jay and Trina call me Kate

Vince, I will miss you. You were a great person to visit with, and I enjoyed trying to play music with you. You knew about every song. You were a smart man and fun to talk with about almost anything. Seems like I saw you buying groceries more than anywhere else other than parties. My condolences to your wonder wife, Mary, and all of your friends, and there are a lot of them. When my Grandfather died I overheard someone say : I never heard anyone say a bad word about him. And I say the same about you. A wonderful man.
