January 6, 1925 - February 13, 2017

R. Ralph Vines, age 92, of Flippin, Arkansas passed away Monday, February 13, 2017 at Twin Lakes Nursing and Rehab in Flippin, Arkansas.

Ralph was born in Haynesville, Louisiana on January 6, 1925 to the late Robert Alfred and Olvilia (Woods) Vines. He had worked as a finishing supervisor at Ranger Boat Manufacturing. He had lived in the area since 1964, coming here from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Ralph was a charter member of Yellville United Pentecostal Church. He enjoyed playing guitar and blue grass gospel music.

Mr. Vines is survived by his wife N. Janice Vines of Flippin, Arkansas; a stepson Bob Cason and his wife, Debra, of Valley Springs, Arkansas; his daughter Beneva Barron and her husband, Dennis, of Yellville, Arkansas; stepdaughters: Lois Taylor and her fiance' Erton McNair of Alpena, Arkansas; Jannett Swafford and her husband, Joe, of St. Joe, Arkansas; Judy Markle and her husband, James, of Bruno, Arkansas; Carolyn Cason of Mountain Home, Arkansas; daughters-in-law: Peggy Vines of Yellville, Arkansas; Nancy Vines of Gassville, Arkansas; stepdaughter-in-law Kathy Cason of Hamburg, Arkansas; his sister Lucille Scott of Bossier City, Louisiana; 17 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

Ralph was preceded in death by his first wife Arlice Scott Vines; two sons: Melvin and Glenn; four brothers; one sister; and one stepson Bill Cason.

Visitation for Mr. Vines will be noon until service time Friday, February 17, 2017 at Yellville United Pentecostal Church in Yellville, Arkansas.

Funeral service will be 2:00 pm, Friday, February 17, 2017 at Yellville United Pentecostal Church in Yellville with Bro. Michael Ellis officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be Vince Wince, Alex Chagnon, Daniel Stine, Jeremy Ellis, Jack Akins, and all the grandchildren.

Ralph was such a good man. I have so many fond memories of him, and I am forever in his debt for bringing Melvin Vines into the world. I take comfort in knowing that Ralph is with his boys again. My family and I are sending prayers and love to all of his family and those that knew and loved him.
