Mamie "Jo" Jo Rowell

Mamie Jo Rowell, 85, of Yellville, Arkansas, formerly of Midland, Texas, died peacefully in her sleep on December 9, 2016, at Conway Regional Hospital in Conway, Arkansas.

Born February 08, 1931 in Big Spring, Texas, she is predeceased by her parents, Hollis and Thelma (Davis) Neal and her late husband of 57 years, Daniel Valentine Rowell, of Yellville, Arkansas.
Jo was a retired art teacher in the Yellville-Summit School for 34 years and business owner of Intriguing Treasures, (IT Shop), in Yellville, Arkansas since 1972, and founder of the Palette Art League. She loved teaching fine art to all ages, teaching three generations before becoming ill a few years before her passing.
Survivors include two sisters: Patsy Hudson, of Yellville, Arkansas; and Bonnie Miller, of Elgin, Illinois..; and three children: daughters Dana Jo, (David T.) Johnson of Yellville, Arkansas; and Rhonda S. Rowell, of San Antonio, Texas; and a son, Victor L. Rowell, (Nita) of Greenbrier, Arkansas. Granddaughters: Vanessa R. Hoffman(Aaron), Bastrop, Texas; Wendy Janski, (Sam) of Vilonia, Arkansas.; grandsons ; Broc Rowell, (Jenny) of Greenbrier, Arkansas.; Vincent N. Johnson, (Mechelle) of Yellville, Arkansas; Vaughn A. Johnson of Little Rock, Arkansas.; and eleven great- grandchildren; and ten great-great-grandchildren.

Friends and community will be welcome to pay tribute during a memorial service, at the Broadway Church of Christ, Saturday, December 17 at 10:00 a.m. located on Hwy 14 North, Yellville, Arlansas with a private burial at Desoto Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Jo Rowell Scholarship fund.
