Paul Wayne Choate, age 67, of Harrison, passed away Monday, July 30, 2018, Mtn. Home, Arkansas. He was born March 12, 1951, in Springfield, Missouri, the son of B. A. and Mary Virginia (Albert) Choate. Paul was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Katheryn Bingham and Patricia Choate.

Paul was a member of Union Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He also loved working in his wood shop, gardening, and helping those who needed him at his church.

Paul is survived by his wife of 46 years, Colleen (Kendrick) Choate; his children and their spouses, Anita and Bryan Marshall, Justin and Kara Choate, and Kendra and Chuck Smith; and his grandchildren, Ethan Marshall, Linsey Choate, Sadie Choate, Cameron Combs, Madison Combs, Dekota and Emily Smith.

Paul is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Robert Choate of Harrison, Mary Lou Francka of Bolivar, Missouri, Billy Choate of Mulberry, Kansas, Jerry Choate of Bolivar, Barbara Hoffman of Willard, Missouri, Brenda Burch of West Memphis, Arkansas, Charlie Choate of Bolivar and Betty England of Morrisville, Missouri; many extended family members; and his church family at Union Baptist Church.



Visitation was 6:00 to 8:00PM Friday, August 3, 2018, at Union Baptist Church, Harrison.

Graveside service was 2:00PM, Saturday, August 4, 2018, at Maplewood Cemetery with Bro. Bill Melton officiating.

Pallbearers were Justin Choate, Bryan Marshall, Chuck Smith, Ethan Marshall , Cameron Combs, Linsey Choate, Madison Combs, Sadie Choate & Dekota Smith

Honorary pallbearers were Harrison City Public Works staff and employees and Union Baptist Church members.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Union Baptist Church Building Fund, 3021 East Highway 206, Harrison, Arkansas, 72601.

I am so sorry for all of your loss. I loved picking on Paul and calling him Kenny Rogers. He and Coleen were quite the pair. God gained a good one and we should rejoice in that. It may take a while but some day it will get easier I promise. For God told us it would we are his children and he loves us. I love you guys

So Sorry for you loss My Husband James Henderson ,worked for Paul at the Street Department .He thought A lot of Paul .James worked there until 2005 when he passed with cancer.I was always teasing Paul when it would snow Paul would call James in to work and I would tell him he was already up there .Paul would say no he;s not but he was A great man.
