Hearl L. ''Gig'' Widner, age 83, of Berryville, Arkansas, passed away, Monday, July 30, 2018 , at Autumn Hill Nursing Home in Berryville. He was born January 21, 1935, in Boone County, Arkansas, the son of Gus and Unis (Sneed) Widner. Along with his parents, Gig was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Widner; his son, Hearl Michael Widner; his son-in-law, Denny High; his brothers, Hubert, Coy, Jimmy, Lloyd and Robert Widner; and his sisters, Frankie Chilson and Inice Roberts.

Hearl was a member of Victory Tabernacle Church in Green Forest, Arkansas. He loved the outdoors, fishing, and had worked as a fishing guide. He loved anything to do with horses. He judged horse shows, participated in rodeos, and operated a western store. As he grew older, Gig had an interest in CB radios.

Hearl is survived by his daughters, Kitty High of Oak Grove, Arkansas and Robin Moore of Green Forest, Arkansas; his grandchildren, D. J. High, Erin Moore, and Summer Moore; his brother, Buster Widner; his sister, Frances Dixon; and a host of other family and friends.


Visitation was 6:00 to 8:00PM, Friday, August 3, 2018, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.

Funeral was 10:00AM, Saturday, August 4, 2018, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home with Rev. Kris Villines officiating. Interment was in Gass Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Stuart Roberts, Steve Roberts, Gannon Roberts, Matt Widner, Terry Widner and Mark Widner.

Honorary pallbearers were Jerrel Roberts, Loyie Roberts, Leroy Roberts, James Widner, Terry High, Rick Widner and Autumn Hills Nursing Home staff.
