Neva Sue Billings Barrett, age 83, of Harrison, died Monday, June 25, 2018, at her residence at Maple Esplanade in Harrison. Sue was born in Marion County, Arkansas on June 27, 1934, to Arlie and Erma (Wood) Keeter.
Service was 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at the Roller-Christeson Funeral Home in Harrison with Brother Johnny Walters and Brother Paul Brashler officiating. Visitation was at the Funeral Home preceding the service at 10:00 a.m. Burial wasin Maplewood Cemetery in Harrison.
Pallbearers were Dusty Breedlove, Tyler Casey, Jamie Duncan, Matt Piper, Terry Young, Kelly Davis and Reid Breedlove. Members of the Hearthstone Sunday School class of First Christian Church will be honorary pallbearers.
Sue was an excellent cook and loved to share her recipes. She and long-time friend Sybil Parker opened and operated the Pierce House Restaurant at George's Creek. They were known for their homestyle cooking and homemade desserts including the Abe Lincoln Pie. She was also employed by Keeter Furniture and Christeson Funeral Home. Sue loved vegetable and flower gardening. She grew beautiful roses. Most of all she loved being Memaw Sue to her grandchildren whom she loved to spoil.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents; her late husband, Fred Billings; her late husband, Arther Barrett; her brother, Gary Keeter; and her stepson, Royce Barrett.
She is survived by her son, Mark Billings and wife Sherri of Harrison; her daughter, Sandra Breedlove and husband David of Everton; her step-daughter-in-law, Edith Barrett; and her step-son, Arther ''Cocky'' Barrett, Jr. and wife Cathy, all of Harrison; her granddaughters, Addi Billings and Haley Casey of Harrison and Emily Duncan of Conway; her grandson, Dusty Breedlove of Everton; her great-grandson, Reid Breedlove; and her great-granddaughters, Reese Breedlove, Kinley Casey, and Hattie Duncan.
Sue will be missed by her family and many friends. The family would like to express a special thank you to all the personnel at Maple Esplanade for the special care they gave to Sue.

Potato Soup (Mark's Favorite)
6 medium potatoes, peeled and sliced
¼ cup each carrots, celery, onion
3 Tablespoon butter
Salt and Pepper to taste
1/8 tsp. garlic salt
4 cups milk
Dash of Tabasco
Combine potatoes, carrots, celery and onion in large pot. Cover with water and bring to a boil. Lower heat and cook vegetables just until tender. Add milk, butter and seasonings. Simmer until hot.
Memaw adds 2 pounds sausage (cooked), 1 can cream of mushroom soup, 8 ounces cream cheese, 8 ounces sour cream, milk and beef bullion cube. Can also add swiss or velvetta cheese.
Pecan Pie Muffins
1 cup packed brown sugar
½ cup flour
1 cup finely chopped pecans
1 cup butter
2 eggs, slightly beaten
Mix together brown sugar, flour and pecans. Add butter and eggs and mix well. Pour batter into sprayed muffin tins and bake at 350 for 20 minutes (large). Makes 1 dozen large or 2 dozen or more mini-muffins. Cook mini-muffins 10 to 12 minutes.
Abe Lincoln Pie
1 cup milk
2 egg yolks beaten
2/3 cup sugar
1 pkg. plain gelatin
¼ cup cold water
1/2 tsp. salt divided (two ¼ tsp)
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cartons whipping cream
½ cup powdered sugar
1 graham cracker crust
1 bar German Chocolate
Scold milk with egg yolks and sugar for 3 to 4 minutes. Do not boil. Dissolve gelatin in water and add to the milk mixture with ¼ teaspoon salt and vanilla. Chill. Whip cream with ¼ teaspoon salt and powdered sugar. Fold all together and pour into crust. Grate chocolate and sprinkle on top of pie. Chill and set.
So sorry for your loss, thinking of Mark and Sandra with a heavy heart, such a loss for everyone who knew her.
We will miss Sue. We didn't get to see her much but we always enjoyed time spent with her. All our cousins wife's are jewels' Fred & Sue were always so good to all the family. Would leave their house open for you to stay there even if they were not home. You were always welcome in their home. We send our thoughts & prayers to the family we know she will be missed and her place can not be filled. If we can do anything let is know. We love you all.
