Evelyn Maxine Flippo

of Harrison, AR

June 9, 2018

Evelyn Maxine Flippo, age 90, of Capps, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018, in Little Rock after a massive stroke. She was born December 31, 1927, in Batavia, to Clyde Albert and Audrey (Raynor) Fields. Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas Flippo in 2009; her son-in-law, Frank Mathis; and a brother, Ralph Fields.

Maxine was a true example of a homemaker. She devoted her life to serving the Lord and raising her family. She never really experienced the ¡°empty nest¡± as Sunday dinners at Gran¡¯s were always well attended. She was an accomplished seamstress and loved quilting, crocheting, and embroidery. Maxine had a green thumb and spent many hours working in her yard and tending to her garden. She was an excellent cook and her family will miss her raisin pie, gooseberry cobbler, butter rolls, and many other culinary delights. Maxine had a kind, quiet, and gentle way about her and was loved by many.

She was a member of the Capps Presbyterian Church and since its closing was attending Batavia Baptist Church. She was actively involved in the Capps Community Club and Batavia Friendship Club.

Maxine is survived by her daughters, Clara Staggs and her husband Ronnie, Janet Mathis, Patricia Wray and her husband Don and Connie Trublood and her husband Don, all of Harrison; her grandchildren, Donald Wray and his wife Tari, Sarah Trublood, Shelley Keeter and her husband Kerry, Baxton Mathis and his wife Angela, Amanda Mathis and her husband Kevin Cochran, Josh Wray and his wife Christy and Zach Trublood and his wife Nicole.

Maxine is also survived by ten great-grandchildren, Bayley Howard and her husband Matt, Cortland Mathis, Addison Shields, Kaitlyn Keeter, Emily Wray, Ryder Starr Trublood, Cole Wray, Ella Wray, Greyson Trublood and Oliver Mathis; two great-great-grandchildren, Chanley Brooke and Lyndsey Cate; a sister, Stella Maynard; two brothers, Omel Fields and Leonard Fields; and a host of family and friends who will mourn her passing.

Visitation was Thursday, June 14, 2018, from 4:00 - 6:00 pm, at Roller-Christenson Funeral Home in Harrison, Arkansas.

Funeral service was Friday, June 15, 2018, at 2:00 pm, at Roller-Christenson Funeral Home officiated by Bro. Kerry Liggett.

Interment followed at Maple Leaf Cemetery in Harrison.

Pallbearers were Maxine's grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Maxine's granddaughters, her sons-in-law, her caregiver Debra Turner, and her very special RN, Marisa Molinaro.
