October 7, 1929 - May 8, 2018

Walter Harmon Israel, age 88, of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2018, in Springfield, Missouri. Walter was born October 7, 1929, in Magic Springs, Arkansas, the son of James and Veldon (Christian) Israel. Walter was preceded in death by his brother, James Carson Israel, and his parents.

Walter retired from the Air Force after 21 years. His military experience took him many places including Japan, Germany and Wake Island. Walter met his loving wife, Connie, in Texas while he was in the military and have been inseparable every since. You could say they are and always will be soul mates. Together they traveled, played cards, and loved to sing in the car together. Walter was a hunter and a fisherman. He was an active member of Knights of Columbus and had held many positions such as Grand Knight, District Deputy, etc as well as Honor Guard . Walter helped wherever and whenever needed. He never met a stranger. Walter will never be forgotten; he had the most mischievous smile that people will always remember.

Walter is survived by his wife, Connie, of the home; his nieces and nephews; and many, many, dear friends.

Rosary was Friday, May 11, 2018, at Roller-Christeson Chapel, with a visitation to follow.

Funeral service was Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Mary Mother of God Catholic Church in Harrison, Arkansas, officiated by Father Jim Fanrak.
