Wanda Lucille Cantrell McCutcheon passed away Sunday, January 14, 2018, at Cox Medical Center in Branson. Wanda was born March 5, 1929, at Rally Hill, the daughter of E. C. and Lucille (Cartwright) Cantrell, and lived in Harrison and Dalhart, TX, much of her early years. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Wanda graduated from Harrison High School in 1946 and was the first Miss Harrison. A graduate of North Texas State with a Bachelor's of Business Administration Degree, she worked for Gulf Oil and Shell Oil Companies in Houston. Following the death of her first husband, James Howard Goatley, Jr., Wanda and her daughter Cynthia moved to Harrison in 1963. She married W.H. ''Mac'' McCutcheon in 1972. Wanda and Mac traveled frequently, visiting such places as Hawaii, Jamaica, Alaska, and Biloxi, MS, spending most of their time in Woodland Park, Colorado and Fort Myers Beach, Florida. They were happily married for forty-six years. Wanda's smile and loving kindness will be remembered by all her friends and family.
She is survived by her husband, W. H. McCutcheon; her daughter, Cynthia Goatley; her sister, Virginia Cantrell Bates; her step-brother, Stephen Lair; her nieces, Ginny Beth Brown and Laurel Ann Briggs Aikin; her nephew, Wayne McCutcheon; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home chapel, officiated by Pastor David Artman. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service.
Private interment was at Maplewood Cemetery.
