Jesse Edward Hale, age 90, of Omaha, AR, died Tuesday, January 24, 2017. He was born in Laurel County, Kentucky April 2, 1926, the tenth of thirteen siblings. He graduated from Union College in Kentucky and had a career as a teacher, principal and as a Baptist minister. He served during World War II in the Army Air Corps. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Omaha, AR.
Mr. Hale is survived by his wife, Nettie Hicks Hale; one brother, Harley Hale; and two sisters, Virginia Bowling and Erphene Hale. He was the father of Kenneth Edward Hale (Sandy), Carolyn Hale Cubbedge (James), Marolyn Lou Hale, William Matthew Hale, and John Wesley Hale, and the stepfather of LaVerl Reynolds and Danny Reynolds. He was the grandfather of Clark Hale, Bailey Hale, Carrie Dowdy Bond and Donna Dowdy Elam. In addition he was the great-grandfather of several and uncle of numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Kenneth Edward Hale, James Edward Cubbedge, John Wesley Hale, Kenneth Clark Hale, John Huston and Gary Matlock.
Funeral service was Saturday, January 28, 2017, at New Hope Baptist Church in Omaha, with Bro. Gary Sloan officiating.
Burial will be at the New Hope Cemetery.
