Russell Edward Shorb, age 45, of Harrison, passed way Friday, September 16, 2016, in Harrison. He was born December 18, 1970, in Ohio, the son of Jim and Sandra (Evitts) McGinnis. He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Robert Shorb.
Russ attended Pentecostal Tabernacle on Silver Valley Road in Harrison. He married Jennifer Riddle on May 11, 1998 at Mini Harris Park in Harrison. He was known as ''Chef Russ'' at the Harrison County Club where he was employed. He enjoyed tattoo art, drawing, cooking, Harley Davidsons, woodworking and BB guns. He was a talented singer. He went to IUP Culinary Institute. He was a tattoo apprentice at Black Dragon Tattoo in Pennsylvania. He was very family oriented.
Russ is survived by his mother, Sandra McGinnis; his wife, Jennifer Shorb; his children, Makaila Edwards and husband Jason, Kitana Shorb, Mariah Shorb, Khloe Shorb, Kalysta Douglas, Ruthanna Riordan and Jessica Trammell; and his grandchildren, Brenden Edwards, Jacob Edwards, Kayda Edwards and Ryland, Blakley and Baylor Riordan.
Russ is also survived by his siblings, Brian Noel, Lavinia Gennarino, Marie Clay and Jason McGinnis; his in-laws, Jack and De Riddle; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service was Thursday, September 22, 2016, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home with David Shekels and Eddie Reed officiating. Visitation was an hour prior to the service.
Interment was in White Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ben Gilbert, John Edwards, John Ford, Darren Dyess, Mike Alverson, Matthew Shekels, Brent Mistler and Brandon Hobson.
Honorary pallbearers were Brian Noel, Lakota Herron, Bill Dotson, Louis Castro. Gary Madle, Dan Shekels, Mike Masterson and Shaun Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bear State Bank, ATTN: Russell Shorb Fund, 1401 Highway 62-65 North, Harrison, AR 72601.
Jennifer I'm so sorry I love all of you so glad that I got to be your neighbor and friend Russ was a great friend and will be missed but just know that he is going to be watching over you all in heaven with Jesus and one day we all will get to see him again and I am praying for you all love you your friend Tonya
