Charles Trammell

of Valley Springs, AR

September 7, 2016

Charles Trammell, age 61, of Valley Springs, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2016, with his wife of 36 years by his side. He was born May 12, 1955, to Carl Dee ''Peck'' and Helen Charlene (Arnold) Trammell. He graduated from Valley Springs High School and the University of Central Arkansas with a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership. He married his high school sweetheart, Sandra Williams, in July of 1980 and both returned to their hometown of Valley Springs for careers as educators.

Charles dedicated his life to the Valley Springs School and community and would tell anyone he met that he ''bled green.'' Over the years he was an administrator, teacher, encourager, coach, and mentor to thousands of students and teachers in the Valley Springs School District. ''Mr. T.'' loved working with kids; one of his favorite parts of being superintendent was opening the doors and greeting the car riders each morning before school. He treated every student with love and respect and met each one with a huge smile. He was an avid Tiger fan and hardly ever missed a Valley Springs sporting event.

He was an equally dedicated and faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Valley Springs, serving in various programs and leadership positions. However, nothing brought him more joy than spending time with
his wife, two daughters, grandchildren, and family, perfecting his tomatoes and garden each summer, cooking family meals on his Big Green Egg, and
going to St. Louis Cardinal baseball games.

Charles leaves behind his wife, Sandra; his daughters and sons-in-law, Sarah and Lincoln Hough of Fair Grove, Missouri and Emily and Bryan Diaz of O'Fallon, Missouri; his grandsons, William Hough and Brody Diaz; and a granddaughter on the way.

He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, James and Carolyn Trammell; his sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Glenn Coleman; his in-laws, Curtis and Nina Williams; and several nieces, nephews and other
dear family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, Dee and Stella Trammell, Hazel Morton, and Hugh Arnold, a beloved uncle, Dennis C. ''Dink'' Trammell; and an infant brother,
Louis Burl Trammell.

Visitation was Friday, September 9, 2016, at the First Baptist Church Valley Springs.

Funeral services was Saturday, September 10, 2016, at the Valley Springs High School Gymnasium.

Interment was in Crawford Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Jim Trammell, Jason Trammell, Craig Coleman, Kevin Coleman, Trevor Williams, Lincoln Hough and Bryan Diaz.

Honorary Pallbearers: The faculty and staff of Valley Springs School and his church family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Valley Springs Foundation, P.O. Box 640 Valley Springs, AR 72682 or the First Baptist Church of Valley Springs, 4444 Hog Creek Rd. Harrison, AR 72601.

I am so so sorry for your loss. I loved Mr. T every since he was my teacher. Then my kids had him as a Superintendent and they loved him as well. He was so kind and he loved all the kids. He was so caring and loving and will be missed greatly. My prayers are with you as we say goodbye to a great man. He will always be in our hearts at Valley forever. May God bless you and give you peace through this hard time. Mr. T is watching over you in Heaven and will continue in cheering the Tigers on. We love you Mr. T. Until we meet again.

To the Trammell family. I leave my heartfelt condolences for your family. I met Mr. Trammell once when Valley Springs played a basketball game here in Imboden. I respected immediately. My daughter, Kellie Shanks adored him. For all that he stood for and the fact that he reminded her so much of her granddad. Heaven has gained a wonderful man but that doesn't make being left behind any easier so your family will be in my prayers. God Bless You.

Sandra, my heart is broken to hear the news about Charles. Like everyone is saying and knew that he was Valley Springs and everyone loved him. If I ever has a problem or a question I knew he would either fix it or had the answer. My Mom's family (Lowery) knew the Trammell's and just lived up the road when they were young. Mom said that she even babysat Charles when he was a baby. She would say I know Charles, I changed his is diapers, lol. I remember when my Grandmother Lowery died he told me that he had a lot of memories of her and the pretty room she had and then he gave me that laugh. He will never be forgotten, my boys respected him as their coach, if it was peewee or t ball, teacher and leader. I could go all over and when I said I was from Valley they always said that they knew Charles Trammell from Valley Springs. My thoughts and Prayers are with you , Sarah and Emily. <3

Dear Trammell Family,
I share in your loss. Everyone does! Charles was everything that anyone needed him to be....a friend, a counselor, a coach, a leader, a sympathizer, a cheerleader, a disciple of Jesus. I treasure the fond memories of many ball games....especially ones where someone tried to steal home plate against him. I am thankful that I shared with him his last act of service at First Baptist Valley Springs, the Pastor Search Committee. I will miss him as Moderator of our Business Meetings...short, sweet, and to the point with Robert's Rules of Order! God bless all of you. He was a great man and a wonderful human beings.
